Hello everyone! I’m Tracy Navichoque. A junior at Northwestern, this will be my third year living in Evanston, although I am originally from Los Angeles. I am a History and International Studies major with a focus on Latin America. On campus I’m involved with several groups such as Northwestern’s Conference on Human Rights, WNUR News, and I give tours at the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art. I also work for a youth organization at Washington Elementary school which is two or three miles from campus and it has pushed me to escape the comfort of campus and explore our neighboring town. Downtown Chicago itself is remarkable and soon you’ll learn how to take the el to the Art Institute of Chicago or Ghirardelli on Michigan Avenue (which has the best hot chocolate). My favorite places in Chicago have been trips to Chinatown for some food and trips to the Chinese supermarket. I have also enjoyed traveling to Wrigleyville, not just for baseball but some great diners and Shakespeare Improv shows. I encourage you all to not only explore Chicago fully but to get involved on campus because these groups are often links to countless activities in the city. Before I graduate my goals are to run the Chicago marathon and bike from Northwestern down to the city along the lake path.
